I never considered myself a political type of person..... Not to say i do not care about the government and how it is operated but i never stayed up on things even though i am in the army and whatever they do will have a great effect on my life.....
But for some reason when i fount out i had to go to the democratic convention i found myself starting to gain interest in politics and what they promise ti this economy......
Leading up to the day that Obama had to speak went by fast and was very boring.... Everyone was forced to stay on campus because we was staying at a college campus but of course the students was gone.
So the day came and everyone started to set up their tents and prepare to wait until Obama came...keep in mind that we arrived at the site 8 a.m and Obama was not suppose to give his speech until 8p.m.... But a few things happened that made me laugh...
First off their was funny ass protesters that had signs that said vote for marijuana.... And then there were celebrities at the function like john legend, Mc Donald, and the one and only Jenifer Hudson....
So finally 7 p.m rolled around and everyone was on high alert and ready for everything to begin... Next thing i knew someone yelled Obama is about to pass threw to go inside the stadium...I ran to wear the yellow tape was that was blocking off the street just to catch a glance at Obama and i did...
It seemed unreal and i felt like i was in some type of movie..
After that everyone was told what they was gone be doing in case of an emergency and stay near your station... I did as i was told until i saw a crowd starting to form across the street... The crowd consisted of Firefighters, Soldiers, and Officers...So of course i went over to see what was going on and what i found would stay in my memory forever and i will pass it on to my keeps and hopefully their kids one day...
Everyone was watching a monitor and on it was what was taking place inside the stadium because we was place right outside it.. I took a seat and watched a slide show of Obama life and how he was brought up..
After that Obama Came out and started to give a speech so powerful that you had service people from all walks of life gathered around just to hear what he had to say.. From their faces you could tell that what he was saying was more then just empty promises just to become President...
I knew that because tears started to form in my eyes because i could relate most the things he was saying to my life... I Tammarra. Letbetter was in a broken home where my mother has to struggle to feed us and pay a car note... I am in a home where the only option for me to go to school was to join the military...
I felt like he was talking about my family in that speech..
Even though Obama was talking to millions i was still able to feel like that speech was just for me.. As i sat there i watched the faces of my fellow comrades and how there heart and minds started to get filled with hope that everything will get better for this economy... In a way my heart got filled with the same hope...
That is why i wish everyone go out and vote whether its for Obama or McCain... Everyone should want a change out of this terrible economy that Bush has left us with... Maybe your heart will get filled with the same hope that overcome my heart...
VOTE OR DIE..
